Telangana Founders Circle

This is where real conversations happen.

Telangana Founders Circle is a community of founders, builders and operators building across the state. The Founder's Circle is how you get in. A few curated hours in Hyderabad, on a weekend morning or evening, for people serious about what they're building. Not a networking event. A room.

Hyderabad. Invite-only. 24 seats per Circle.
Applications reviewed personally.

You’ve been to enough of these.

You know the shape of it before you park. A hall in Gachibowli. A panel that starts forty minutes late. Somebody’s growth lead reading slides you could have skimmed in ninety seconds. Then “open networking,” which means everyone in the room selling to everyone else at the same time.

You drive home with eleven cards, six connection requests and a quiet feeling that you should have stayed at work.

The problem was never networking. It’s that nobody built the room. When anyone can walk in you don’t know who you’re talking to, so you open with what you do instead of what you’re stuck on. Sixty people, sixty first drafts of the same conversation.

We build it in the other order. Room first. Everything else second.

Charminar, Hyderabad

Twenty-four people, picked one at a time.

We choose for the mix as carefully as we choose the person. Someone at idea stage sits next to someone three years and forty customers ahead of them. A solo technical founder sits next to an operator who has already hired that team twice, badly the first time.

Small enough that you will speak to most of the room before you leave. Chosen so the person beside you is worth the three hours. There is no third thing.

What makes this different

A person reads every application

Not a form that scores you. We’re balancing stage, sector and temperament, which means a strong application sometimes waits for the Circle it actually fits.

Nobody is presenting

No stage, no deck, no MC working the crowd. Tables, and enough time to finish a thought. You leave having spoken to people rather than having been introduced to them.

Everyone here is mid-build

Idea stage through Series A, but building. We don’t filter on traction or funding, we filter on whether you’re doing the work. That’s what keeps out the people collecting contacts.

The three hours are just the introduction

Co-founders, first customers, first hires, and the second opinion you couldn’t get anywhere else. What happens in the weeks afterwards is the part we actually care about.

How a Circle runs

Circles run on weekends. Some as a morning, some as an evening, because founders’ Saturdays don’t all look the same. The three hours are shaped identically either way.

Structured enough that nobody ends up standing by the wall holding a glass. Loose enough that the good conversations get to run over.

I
10:00 am

Arrival

No registration desk, no lanyards. Someone walks you over to two people before you’ve put your bag down, because the first ten minutes decide how the rest of it goes.

II
10:30 am

The Circle

Sixty seconds each, standing where you are. What you’re building, and the one thing you’re stuck on. The stuck part matters more — it’s what people remember, and it’s what they come and find you for later.

III
11:00 am

Small Rooms

Tables of six, seated on purpose, one rotation. Six is the largest number where nobody gets to stay quiet.

IV
12:00 pm

Open Floor

Go and find the two people whose intros you wrote down. This is the part that always runs long, and the part everyone stays for.

V
1:00 pm

Close

Everyone who was there gets the list. Names, what each person is building, how to reach them. No follow-up sequence, no drip.

There is no speaker, no sponsor slot and no photographer asking you to hold a cheque. If you want a conference, Hyderabad has plenty and some of them are good.

Who's in the room

A Circle works because of the mix. Here’s roughly who ends up across the table from you.

First-time founders

Six months in, still explaining the idea to yourself. You want someone to poke holes in it before you hand in your notice.

Building founders

Product is live, customers are trickling in. Mostly you want to know whether the trickle is normal or whether you should be worried.

Scaling founders

Past the first crore, and every problem has quietly become a people problem. Different questions, different people worth asking.

Technical builders

You’d rather ship than talk about shipping. A few of you are quietly looking for a co-founder and won’t say so until hour two.

Operators

You’ve run growth or sales inside somebody else’s startup. You know where the bodies are buried and you’re happy to say so off the record.

Ecosystem

An investor or two, the occasional mentor. Rare on purpose — the moment there is obvious money in the room, everybody starts performing.

Who isn’t here: recruiters working the floor, MLM, agencies harvesting leads, and anyone whose plan for the morning is fifty cards. We turn a few of these down before every Circle. That isn’t gatekeeping for the sake of it — it’s the only reason the other twenty-four can speak freely.

And the obvious conflict: TGFC is run by people who also run a marketing agency. Which is exactly why we cap agencies at one seat, ours included, and why nobody in this room will ever be sold to from the front.

How we build the room

1

You apply

Five questions, three minutes. The last one is the only one that really decides it.

2

We read it

All of it, by hand. Nothing is scored, nothing is auto-rejected.

3

We build the mix

We’re assembling a table, not ranking a queue. Good applications get held for a later Circle all the time, simply because we already have three of you.

4

You get an invite

Seat, venue, time and who else is coming. If it’s a no, you get that too, with the reason.

Either way you hear from us inside four days. Silence is not an answer we use.

Circle 01 — Hyderabad

We’re putting the first one together now and we’re about a third of the way through deciding who’s in it. If you’re in Circle 01 you’re part of the group everything after gets built around — including the things we’ll get wrong and fix by Circle 03.

There are no testimonials on this page yet, because there is nothing to quote. Ask us again in November.

Why this exists

Almost everything I know about building came out of three or four conversations, and not one of them happened at an event. They happened because somebody made an introduction and then got out of the way.

That’s the whole thing we’re trying to manufacture on purpose. Not content, not a stage, not a directory. Twenty-four people who’d be genuinely useful to each other, in a room, deliberately.

Three hours is the start. What comes after is introductions between Circles, a group chat that isn’t noise, and someone you can send a hard question to at eleven at night without explaining the backstory first.

Your name, who runs TGFC

A founder in Warangal should have the same room as a founder in Madhapur.

Right now they don’t, and it has nothing to do with talent. It has to do with who happens to live within nine kilometres of HITEC City.

The room over the programme

One Saturday a month beats one conference a year. You get to know people by seeing them a third time, not by standing in a longer badge queue.

Past Hyderabad

Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad. We’d rather take the Circle to founders than keep asking them to drive three hours each way to sit in one.

No gate marked funding

A bootstrapped founder with paying customers belongs here as much as a funded one, and is usually better company. Nobody is asked what they raised.

A circle, not a funnel

We’re not assembling an audience to sell something to in six months. The three hours are the product. If they stop being worth your Saturday, say so and we’ll change them.

Apply to attend

Three minutes. A person reads it, and you get an answer either way.

You will get an answer

Within four days, yes or no. We don’t leave people waiting to find out by watching Instagram.

Most noes are about the mix

Not about you. We keep the application on file and come back to it for the next one.

Your details stay with us

No sponsors, no partners, no list anybody else gets to buy. Ever.

We don't share your details with sponsors or anyone else. Ever.

Questions people ask

Is there a fee?

Yes, and it’s the same for everyone. It covers the venue and the food, nothing more, and it goes out with your invite. We won’t take sponsor money for seats or stage time, because the moment a seat can be bought the word curated stops meaning anything.

I'm at idea stage. Should I apply?

Yes, and please do. The gap between someone six months in and someone six years in is where most of the good conversation happens — it runs in both directions more often than people expect.

What if I'm not a founder?

Operators, technical builders and early team members are all welcome. If your business is selling services to founders, be straight about it in the application — we keep one or two seats for that and we’d rather know upfront than find out at the table.

Why do I have to apply?

Because the room is the product. Open the doors and we’re running the same event you already stopped going to.

How many people will be there?

Twenty-four. You’ll speak to most of them, and you’ll remember about six.

What happens if I'm not selected?

You’ll hear back with a reason. Most noes are about the mix rather than the person, and we keep the application for the next Circle without you having to do it again.

Is this only for Hyderabad?

Hyderabad for now, Warangal next. If you’re building outside the city, say where in your application — enough people from one place moves it up the list.

The room only works if the right people are in it.

Three minutes to apply. One of us reads every single one.
